I am concerned over the loss of magic in life. Humanity has become arrogant with its declaration that all can be known and controlled, or that worse yet, that all should be known and controlled. The ridiculous attempts by a few to chase after immortality in this life, demonstrate my point.
I am not saying that the stone age is preferable to our modern conveniences. Rather, I am saying that today’s world is ill with a hubris that humanity can dominate the entirety of the cosmos. We have a fervor to categorize and define all that is, and to eradicate any magic. In doing so, we make the mistake of thinking that words and defined things are, in fact, everything that is. They are not.
There are things that are real that we cannot see, and colors we have yet to imagine. This is magic. And only when we embrace this unfathomable corner of existence – that darkest unknown just beyond the rims of light that delineate our consciousness – can we have true flight and enjoy true freedom.
